Andy Dicks, Professor and Undergraduate Chair in the department of chemistry, is featured by the Chemical institute of Canada this month where he shares the story of how he helped start a green chemistry culture at the University of Toronto.
"We began in the mid-2000s with a couple of people,” says Dicks, who believes you don't need to have a separate course on green chemistry, but rather green chemistry principles should be integrated into all courses.
"We now have a culture of green chemistry in the department, and people are identifying with it.”
