Professor Helen Tran has been named as one of the "Talented 12" in Chemical & Engineering News, an honour celebrating early-career researchers who are using chemistry to make the world a better place.
Tran is being recognized for her work in designing new ways to build electronics. Her research group uses innovative materials to make polymer semiconductors that can flex and bend. These materials have potential use in sensors inside the body or in environmental or agricultural applications.
