Professor John Polanyi was the convocation speaker for U of T’s first ‘virtual’ graduation on June 2. Prof. Polanyi joined Chancellor Rose Patten and President Meric Gertler during the ceremony. Speaking to the over 15,000 graduating students Prof. Polanyi discussed the importance of informed debate, science, and social change in the context of the global challenges of COVID-19, climate change and nuclear war.
